At Schechter Manhattan, our students are at the center and our pedagogy is geared toward helping our learners make sense and meaning of the text. We are looking for a professional educator who is proficient with Jewish text, thoughtful about their practice, and open to engaging students and colleagues in discourse about how Jewish life and practice can directly impact us every day. The middle school Jewish Studies Teacher will lead the implementation of the Jewish Studies and tefillah curriculum while also collaborating with colleagues in support of students’ learning across an integrated curriculum.

Experience/Background:
• At least 2 years of classroom teaching required.
• Comfort and facility with Jewish life, texts, and ideas required.
• Training in working with, and/or experience with, middle school-aged students required.
• Interest and willingness to work as part of a collaborative team in all areas of the middle school required.
